Great TED video showing molecules as they really are in cells

(and more amazing 3-d animations from Drew Berry--link)

Chemistry and the Molecules of Life

BEFORE CLASS:  BACKGROUND AND PREPARATION
  1. Preview text chapters, lab manual, Powerpoint presentations, web resources
  2. Review out handouts for this section of course
  3. Review crucial parts of "Getting Ready for A and P" [link--important topics] [link--my A andP]
  4. View online periodic tables of the elements (see links below)

GOALS PRESENTATIONS ACTIVITIES
  1. Start course again with view of Anatomy and Physiology in the evolutionary hierarchy of living systems
  2. Analyze how Anatomy and Physiology fits into the hierarchical organization of living systems.
  3. Clarify levels in that hierarchy that students should already have learned from previous Biology experience.
  4. Examine special role of diffusion in all biological functions.  Also review feedback systems in physiology.
